Today on the blog, we’re talking about all things outdoor furniture and why it’s such an important part of your wedding day setup.

If you’re planning a marquee or tipi wedding, chances are you’ll have outdoor space surrounding the structure that’s perfect for hosting your drinks reception. This part of the day can last a few hours and is often the first chance guests get to relax, mingle and catch up after the ceremony, which is exactly why outdoor seating is a must.

Providing comfortable seating gives guests somewhere to perch with a drink and canapé, chat with friends and enjoy the moment and of course, when the weather is on your side (fingers crossed!), people naturally gravitate outside rather than staying inside the marquee or tipi.

For this setup, we created a large outdoor space made up of several smaller seating zones, each styled slightly differently to add interest and encourage guests to move around and mingle. Everything was finished off with our Millie Fringed Parasols, providing much‑needed shade and adding a gorgeous finishing touch.

To make things extra cosy, we layered in accessories from our wide range of cushions and soft furnishings because comfort is just as important as style.

We also love creating low seating areas using giant patterned floor cushions and leather pouffes. These are always a firm favourite, especially for any children attending, and they add a relaxed, festival‑style feel to the space.
